This is an experiential learning course where students will perform important skills as a veterinary technician providing nursing care to animals. Students will be required to apply care for equine, food and companion animals, maintain a hospital area as well as nurse sick and injured animals during labs, and during kennel/barn assignments. Experiential practice orientation sessions that specialize in companion animals, food animals, and equine may be scheduled at various locations throughout the semester for students to observe and participate in the practical aspects of veterinary technology.
