In this course, students will be introduced to the issues and laws of ethics and privacy with children. Students will explore the policies and practices which aim to improve the lives of children. There will be a specific focus on the ethical use, design and implementation of various forms of technology and innovation with children. Students will explore global policy, law and ethical issues surrounding the collection and use of data and risks to privacy. The child's development and well-being will be included into the holistic understanding in this course, including the development of critical thinking skills, mental health, informed decision making and informed consent and assent in grappling with the moral, ethical issues surrounding children, technology and child futures.
