This course situates exhibition-making as a form of knowledge creation, cultural dialogue, and, in the contemporary context, a collaborative practice between artists, curators, and institutions. With a focus on methodologies, concepts, and strategies that inform exhibition practices, students will explore diverse global examples, ultimately developing their own exhibition proposals. Offered at the Art Gallery of Guelph, the course provides students with hands-on, real-world experience while deepening their understanding of the discursive, theoretical, and political dimensions of exhibitions.
