Community and Change is a work-integrated learning course designed to integrate a student's academic studies with quality experiences within a workplace setting. Students are given the opportunity to develop employment skills, explore career options, and network with an employer as part of a community-based research project. Students will expand their knowledge through the application of their discipline's theories and approaches to 'real-world' problems. Work Integrated Learning (WIL) incorporates reflective practices, an essential activity to recognize and articulate skills and competencies developed through academic and applied learning. Students learn strategies for engaging with the career development cycle through community involvement. WIL is used to reinforce the intersection between academic training, personal and professional development.
