The Indigenous Health Research Methods course aims to build on previously cultivated knowledge that will support the development of Indigenous Health Research that meets and/or exceeds the dual criteria of Indigenous community relevance and scientific excellence. This course will provide an introduction into decolonial research methods used in and by Indigenous communities to advance Indigenous community-based health knowledge and expertise. Students will learn how to practically implement and apply Indigenist health research methods in partnership with Indigenous organizations and communities through demonstrations, discussion, and partnerships. Students will prepare a small research project using the techniques learned in class.
