Concepts such as network planning; risk pooling; supply contracts; distribution, procurement and outsourcing strategies; integration and coordination; and information technology in business processes. Special focus on purchasing including sourcing, RFP process and supplier selection. Software packages will be used to illustrate many of the concepts. The sustainability of supply chain networks, in terms of environmental, risk, and waste costs, is also discussed.
