In this course, students will apply epidemiological principles to the control and management of communicable disease outbreaks at the population level. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of disease transmission and emerging infectious disease threats locally and globally. By the end of this course students will be able to understand the dynamics of communicable disease (pathogens, hosts, transmission); and apply primary, secondary and tertiary prevention efforts to control population outbreaks.
