An in-depth coverage of the areas of bioarchaeology and palaeopathology to learn about how we can gain insight into the lived experiences of past peoples from their biological remains. Students will become familiar with the sources of evidence used and will gain a breadth of knowledge into the different areas of inquiry. Students will also gain an appreciation for the complexities of the topic and for the ways in which the study of the past can connect to current understandings of adaptation and health. Students may directly interact with real or replica human remains in this course [3 credits]
