Biologists working in fields from genomics to ecology to physiology collect, analyze, and interpret their data using quantitative methods. More and more, biological researchers are encountering data (genomic, environmental, phenotypic) in unprecedented volumes that require new data handling approaches. The overall goal of this course is to introduce biology students to the types of biological questions that can be answered by applying computational methods to large-scale, publicly available data sets.
