This course will study the art and archaeology of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and other sites destroyed by Mount Vesuvius in 79 C.E., with attention to social history, artistic developments, and daily life. Students may not hold credit for both CLAS 3264 and the former CLAS 3730 when titled "Pompeii and Herculaneum." [3 credits]
