A discussion of the basic pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, mechanisms of actions, doses and adverse effects of therapeutic agents prescribed and administered by dentists. This will include antibiotics, analgesics, anxiolytics, anti-viral and anti-fungal agents. Subsequently drugs used in the management of systemic diseases will be discussed including mechanisms of actions and adverse effects, with particular focus on those which are dentally-related [3 credits]
