This course focuses on a range of storms and mesoscale phenomena in the summer or winter. These include thunderstorms, tornadoes, squall lines, lightning, low level jets, gust fronts, blizzards, freezing rain, orographic storm, and polar lows. The emphasis is on the physical mechanisms leading to these events and it also examines how they may change in our changing climate [3 credits]
