A laboratory-based course, intended to teach the fundamental techniques required to work in a modern molecular microbiology laboratory. Students will develop a thorough understanding of the theory underpinning the techniques introduced in this course, laboratory skills in current molecular microbiology techniques, and application of techniques to investigate scientific questions, such as the identification of unknowns.
