Students will be taught a comprehensive range of basic pharmacology principles that prepare a strong foundation for future studies in pharmacology, toxicology and health sciences. Topics of emphasis include drug classification, nomenclature, administration, absorption, distribution, elimination, toxicity and addiction. There will also be a strong focus on the nature of drug interactions with molecular targets, and the cell signaling events that follow to produce therapeutic and toxic effects [3 credits]
