This course will introduce students to central philosophical topics concerning the nature of the self, the mind, consciousness and personhood. Topics to be discussed include the following: What is the relationship between the mind and the body? Do we have a free will? What constitutes personal identity? Could there be life after death? Students can expect to develop skills in critical reasoning and argumentation, and the ability to reason about, scrutinize, and defend various philosophical positions [3 credits]
