This course explores one of the most powerful but maligned organs of the UN - the Security Council. Drawing on legal texts, resolutions and case studies, this course explores the history and evolution of this organ. Particular attention is paid to its decision-making processes and contributions to international peace and security and international law. Students may not hold credit for both POLS 4010 and the former POLS 3580.
