Students will be exposed to theories that apply to the initiation, development, maintenance, and dissolution of relationships. The primary focus will be on evolutionary theory, attachment styles, communal and exchange relationships, equity theory, interdependence theory and the investment model, attributional theories, and theories of love. Students may not hold credit for both PSYC 4400 and PSYC 4540 with the topic "Theories of Close Relationships." [3 credits]
