This course examines human relationships to the outdoors. Through the exploration of historical and contemporary philosophies and theories about the outdoors, the course will introduce Indigenous ways of knowing and being in relation to the multiple conceptualizations of outdoor recreation, environmental education and outdoor experiential education. Special attention will be given to issues of social and environmental justice within outdoor practices within Canadian and global contexts [3 credits]
