This course explores the history and potential of Indigenous land-based education within the Winnipeg metropolitan region and surrounding areas. Three facets of Indigenous land-based education will be emphasized: nature, culture, and history. Course content and experiential learning activities will examine First Nations and Métis perspectives on the unique history, culture, and natural environment of the area, including the University of Manitoba wetlands, forested, and agricultural lands [3 credits]
