This course explores the wide variety of religious traditions, practices, and beliefs of the Mediterranean region in the Hellenistic and Roman period (c. 300 BCE to 300 CE). This period is exemplified by a great deal of continuity, but it was also a time of experimentation, innovation, and cultural entrepreneurship. Also offered by Classics as CLAS 3670.
