This is an introductory course on the science of domesticated farm animals and their use in agriculture animal production systems. This course introduces students to the structure of the livestock and poultry industries and addresses the principles, problems, and programs associated with production. The aim is to provide an overview of basic animal biology and management of the animal agriculture sector so that students will understand its complexities and its place in the economy of Canada and the world.
