An introduction to the principles of ecological toxicology, including: population modeling, experimental design and interpretation of field studies, and contaminant impact assessment on populations, communities and ecosystems. Computer laboratory exercises will be used to model populations and ecosystems and analyze changes in populations and communities resulting from contaminant impacts. Weekly hours: 3 Lecture hours and 3 Practicum/Lab hoursPrerequisite(s): BIOL 120 and 121 and BIOL 228 and 6 additional credit units of senior BIOL courses and a course in statistics; or permission of the instructor. Note: TOX 301 is recommended. Students cannot receive credit for both BIOL 475 and BIOL 875.
