Presents methods used to design, build, and predict the performance of road structures. The course draws heavily upon a material science and mechanics framework to quantify the effects of alternative materials, traffic loading and environmental loading on road performance. Road structural design, materials specification, construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of flexible and rigid pavements are presented in the overall context of effective road asset management. Prerequisite(s): CE 328.3 (taken) and CE 329.3.
