This course builds on topics related to process engineering by means of material and energy balances. The degree-of-freedom analysis is implemented to analyze non-reacting and reacting processes containing single and multiple units. Solution methods including species and elemental balances are compared. The techniques of using spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel to carry out process simulation will be introduced. Prerequisite(s) or Corequisite(s): GE 163.3; and one of CHEM 115.3 or CHEM 146.3.
