This course introduces thermodynamic flow, expansion and compression of fluids, power-plant cycles, engines, liquefaction of gases and refrigeration. Significant time is devoted to solution thermodynamics in vapour-liquid equilibria for binary systems both in ideal and non-ideal states. The course culminates with discussions of chemical reaction equilibria. Prerequisite(s): CHE 223.
