Chemical engineering students learn the fundamentals regarding the microorganisms and their industrial applications. Metabolic regulations, enzymatic and biochemical reaction are covered. Batch and continuous fermentations, design of bioreactors, aeration, mixing, sterilization and down stream processing are discussed. Weekly hours: 3 Lecture hours and 1 Practicum/Lab hoursNote: Students with credit for CHE 461 will not receive credit for this course.
