Students will be introduced to teaching science in Cree and to the Saskatchewan science curriculum for early years learners. Situated in early childhood philosophy and pedagogy and an Indigenous worldview, methods and resources needed to teach the curriculum and respectfully include additional Indigenous ways of knowing at this level will be demonstrated. Relevant contemporary issues related to science education will be explored. This course will be taught in Cree and will provide opportunity for reinforcing and extending teacher candidateās Cree language proficiency.
