This course introduces students to Engineering Design. The Design I course focuses on the early stages of design characterized by problem identification, acceptance, definition, and characterization. This will include the determination of design functions, criteria/objectives and constraints/requirements. Students will engage in a group project to identify and characterize an engineering design problem of their own choosing. Weekly hours: 1.5 Lecture hours and 1.5 Practicum/Lab hoursRestriction(s): Restricted to students in the College of Engineering. Prerequisite(s) or Corequisite(s): GE 102.2 and GE 132.1 Note: Costs in addition to tuition will apply. Students with credit for GE 121 or GE 142 will not receive credit for this course.
