This course will provide the student with an introduction, from a user perspective, to the principles and procedures of financial reporting. Topics include: the objectives and users of accounting information, the mechanics of accounting including the accounting equation, transactions, the accounting cycle, and the preparation of financial statements. The use and interpretation of accounting information for investment, lending and management decision-making will be emphasized.
