An introduction to the design and control of fluid power circuits. The operation and design of basic components are considered. A methodology to the design of industrial circuits is introduced and applied to industrial applications. Design criteria for open loop applications are introduced. This class shares some lectures with ME490, with an additional material and a design project to be completed by the student. Additional topics will include dynamic modelling of hydraulic systems and control of hydraulic systems. Weekly hours: 3 Lecture hoursPrerequisite(s): ME 215, CE 225, or CHE 210, or permission of the instructor. Note: Students may not receive credit for both ME 490 and ME 847.
