The fundamentals of experiment planning including parametric design of experiments and experimental trajectories are introduced. Experimental techniques for pressure, temperature, and flow rate measurement are discussed. Particle image velocimetry, laser Doppler velocimetry, and hot-wire anemometry are treated in detail. Finally, the application of uncertainty analysis to experimental techniques in the thermal sciences is considered. Weekly hours: 3 Lecture hoursPrerequisite(s): ME 335 or equivalent.
