Using evidence-based theories, and practice, students participate in clinical experiences of relevance to the theoretical concepts taught in Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Family Centered Nursing Theory course, which explores health concepts and health challenges of the infant, child, adolescent and child bearing family within the context of family centred care across a continuum of nursing care experiences. Concepts of health promotion, wellness, self-determination, individualized, and safe care within an interprofessional and legally prudent environment are incorporated. Weekly hours: 156 Clinical Service hoursRestriction(s): Restricted to students in the College of Nursing who are registered in the B.S.N. program or the Post-Degree B.S.N. Option. Prerequisite(s) or Corequisite(s): NURS 330.3 Note: Post-Degree B.S.N. classes are offered in an open learning format with the same number of hours, but in alternate time frames. Costs in addition to tuition will apply to this course. Students with credit for NURS 371 will not receive credit for this course.
