This course provides an introduction to digital mapping and spatial analysis using a geographic information system (GIS). Students will learn how to create their own maps, input their own data, and become familiar with basic GIS operations that can be applied to a wide variety of subject areas including environmental management. The practical assignments and final project give students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience using GIS software. Prerequisite(s): AGRC 111.3 or GEOG 120.3 or ASKI 101.3 Note: A basic understanding of computers and familiarity with the Microsoft Windows operating system is assumed. Students with credit for RRM 321 will not receive credit for this course.
