The 4 Seasons of Reconciliation is an interactive course designed to introduce participants to the history and cultures of Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island from European contact to current times. Participants will engage with an online portal including slide shows and videos on various topics such as Indigenous innovations, treaties, and government policies, UNDRIP and TRC calls to act on, residential schools and the 60s scoop, economic reconciliation and the path forwards. Over several group sessions, participants will take part in conversaon circles which are an opportunity to reflect on learning materials, learn from one another, and determine one's role in reconciliation. Following completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate which will document their participation. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of Year 2 of the D.V.M. program. Note: This is a Year 3 elective for students in the D.V.M. program.
