Students will learn how to apply the concepts of evidence-based medicine to veterinary practice. The course provides students with the basic skills necessary to evaluate the scientific literature with emphasis on clinical trials, choose diagnostic tests and interpret the results, and investigate and control outbreaks of disease. In-class exercises will provide students with practical experiences for each of these core objectives. Restriction(s): Successful completion of Year 1 of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.
