Students also explore the equally diverse ways in which viewers bring their own engagement with these questions into interpretations of painting, sculpture, and photography. Ranging in focus from music theatre to notorious plays and dramatists, from the role of the actor-manager to that of the literary polemicist and the visionary director, this course will also see students exploring original archival materials housed in the Kelly Library, workshopping scenes with guest lecturers, and, when possible, travelling to a relevant theatre production. This course may include a compulsory travel component (location to be determined based on travel restrictions). (An ancillary fee is required to help cover a portion of the travel costs.)
