This course provides an introduction to concepts and methods of descriptive and inferential statistics needed for the analysis of quantitative data. Students explore key concepts such as probability, distributions, Analysis of Variance and hypothesis testing. Using data sets from language studies, students gain hands-on experience with the statistical analysis software R, focusing on data visualization, regression modeling and significance tests.
